About the event

This comprehensive workshop will cover everything you need to confidently treat attachment-wounded clients through EMDR, Play Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy. Learning for all styles includes printed resources, lectures, demonstrations, and experiential practicums. This in-person workshop provides 15 hours of EMDRIA-approved Advanced Training, APT-approved contact training hours, and LPC/LMFT CE hours. Our training facility offers fully equipped counseling rooms for private practicum experiences.

Thursday 

9:00-12:00: Attachment Theory and Skills

1:00-4:00: Sandtray and EMDR Basics

Friday

9:00-12:00: EMDR Phases 1 & 2 for Attachment Wounded and Dissociative Clients

1:00-4:00: Ego Strength Interventions for Play Therapy and EMDR

Saturday

9:00-12:00 Treatment Planning and Progress

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify and express the three-pronged protocol of EMDR

2. Establish treatment goals based on the three-pronged protocol.

3. Create resources for documenting, communicating, and tracking treatment goals.

4. Identify four child and adult attachment styles.

5. Create a sample treatment plan for each of the insecure attachment styles.

6. Practice art therapy exercise for state change practice.

7. Use Sandtray Therapy or Art Therapy exercises to provide psychoeducation on boundaries.

8. Practice play therapy activities for introducing parts of self.

9. Identify three basic concepts of parts work.

10. Practice 3 interventions for identifying parts of self in play therapy.

11. Practice a play therapy intervention using Sandtray to help clients build curiosity and compassion for the roles of parts.

12. Demonstrate competency in using play therapy interventions that support cooperation and integration of parts of self.

13. Differentiate between directive and responsive resourcing opportunities.

14. Practice 4 play therapy interventions for resource development

15. .Demonstrate effective use of treatment planning tools for resource development.
